1. What this product is — and is not
Lacunr is a clinical decision-support and drafting tool for qualified radiologists and clinicians. It helps structure, phrase, and cross-check radiology reports and suggests differential considerations from text you provide. It is a writing and reasoning aid — not a diagnostic system.
Lacunr is not a medical device and has not been reviewed, cleared, approved, certified, or registered by the U.S. FDA, the EU MDR / CE process, India’s CDSCO, or any other medical-device or health regulator. It must not be used as an autonomous diagnostic device, a screening device, a triage device, or as software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD) for any regulated clinical claim.
2. The clinician remains fully responsible
Every output is a draft for a qualified professional to verify. You agree that:
- A licensed, qualified radiologist/clinician must independently review the actual images on a diagnostic workstation and confirm, correct, or reject every finding, measurement, classification, and impression before any report is signed, issued, or acted upon;
- The service does not establish a doctor–patient relationship, does not practise medicine, and does not replace the reader’s independent professional judgment;
- No clinical decision — diagnosis, treatment, referral, follow-up interval, intervention, or reassurance — may be made on the basis of any output alone;
- Final responsibility for the report and for patient care rests entirely with the supervising clinician and their institution, exactly as it would without this tool.
3. AI outputs can be wrong
Outputs are generated by statistical language models. They can be incomplete, outdated, biased, internally inconsistent, or confidently incorrect (“hallucinated”), and can miss findings a human would catch or invent findings that are not present. Identical inputs may yield different wording. Classifications (e.g. BI-RADS, Lung-RADS, LI-RADS, TI-RADS, PI-RADS) and thresholds must always be confirmed against the current official source and the images. Nothing here is a guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any clinical purpose.
4. No patient-identifiable data
You must not enter protected health information or personally identifiable patient data (names, IDs, hospital numbers, faces, dates of birth, or other identifiers) into free-text fields or uploads. Enter de-identified clinical descriptions only. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with your institution’s policies and with health privacy law (e.g. HIPAA, the DPDP Act, GDPR) applicable to you and your patients. 5. Not for emergencies
This service is not for medical emergencies. If a patient may be in danger, act immediately through your normal clinical and emergency pathways — do not wait for or rely on this tool.
6. Assumption of risk; no warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, CLINICAL ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators, authors, and providers of Lacunr disclaim all liability for any loss, harm, misdiagnosis, delayed or missed diagnosis, injury, or damage (direct or indirect) arising from use of, or reliance on, any output. Where liability cannot be fully excluded under mandatory law, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the three months before the claim, or the minimum that cannot lawfully be excluded, whichever applies.
